Dr. Saadiq F. El-Amin III is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon known for his expertise in shoulder, knee, sports medicine, and advanced orthopaedic surgery.
With extensive surgical experience and advanced fellowship training, Dr. El-Amin provides both surgical and nonsurgical treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. His approach combines clinical experience, advanced surgical techniques, and an individualized understanding of each patient’s goals.
Dr. El-Amin is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and completed advanced fellowship training in shoulder and sports medicine at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, one of the country’s most prominent orthopaedic institutions.
Advanced Training & Experience
Dr. El-Amin earned his medical degree and PhD in molecular and cellular biology from Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center before completing a fellowship in shoulder and sports medicine orthopaedic surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery.
During his fellowship, Dr. El-Amin served as an Assistant Team Physician for the New York Knicks and St. John’s University, gaining experience in the evaluation and treatment of high-level athletes.

Dr. El-Amin has built a career that extends beyond the operating room. He previously served as Director of Shoulder and Sports Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and has held academic and research positions involving orthopaedics, biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine.
His academic work includes more than 40 medical publications, research presentations, patents, and work in tissue engineering and advanced biomaterials.
In 2017, Dr. El-Amin was recognized as a “Top Orthopaedic Surgeon” by Leading Physicians of the World.
