Dr. Linus I. Igbokwe is a board-certified family medicine physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and advanced fellowship training in primary care sports medicine.
He specializes in the nonsurgical evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions in patients of all ages and activity levels. His expertise includes injuries and conditions affecting the bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints.

Advanced Sports Medicine Training
Dr. Igbokwe earned his bachelor’s degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey.
He completed his family medicine residency at Ascension St. Vincent’s East Family Medicine and then pursued advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Andrews Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.
During his fellowship, Dr. Igbokwe gained extensive experience providing medical coverage for athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
A Full-Circle Return to the Community
A graduate of Collins Hill High School, Dr. Igbokwe was a four-year member of the school’s basketball team. Returning to the community as a sports medicine physician gives him the opportunity to care for athletes and active patients in the area where his own athletic journey began.
Approach to Care
Dr. Igbokwe believes effective sports medicine care begins with understanding both the injury and the individual.
His goal is to develop a treatment plan that helps each patient recover safely, restore function, and return to the activities they enjoy; whether that patient is a competitive athlete, a recreational athlete, or simply someone who wants to remain active.
